1:1 Child Wellbeing Sessions
What I hear most often from parents is:
“We just don’t know what is going to work for our child.”
I hear you. And after 27 years of working with children, I’ve learned that there is no one-size-fits-all approach.
With experience supporting children with PDA profiles, autism and ADHD, alongside training in relationship-based play therapy, children’s and autism yoga, and clay therapy, I can adapt my approach to meet your child exactly where they are.
Rather than asking your child to fit into a particular method, I follow the child — their needs, their way of communicating, their interests and their pace.
Together, we find what works.
In person • Brighton • Ages 6–17

THIS IS FOR YOU IF:
-
Your child is finding it difficult to leave the house. School, social activities or everyday outings may feel overwhelming, and you are looking for a gentle, understanding way to help them reconnect with the world.
-
You can see that your child wants to move forward, but you haven't yet found the right way to reach them. You know they have hopes, interests and abilities, yet conventional approaches haven't always worked.
-
Your child has experienced setbacks from pressure, demands or being pushed beyond their capacity. You are looking for someone who understands that forcing progress can sometimes make things harder, and who will respect your child's pace.
-
You want support from someone with a broad range of skills and a body-mind approach. You are looking for a practitioner with a background in somatic education, relationship-based play, guided imagery, active imagination, clay therapy and children's wellbeing.
-
Your child communicates in ways that aren't always easy to put into words. You would like to explore what is happening beneath the surface through imagination, movement, sensory experiences and creative expression.
-
You are tired of trying to find an approach that truly fits your child. You want someone who will listen, observe, adapt and build a trusting relationship rather than simply follow a fixed programme.
WHY CHOOSE ME?
Finding the right person to support your child matters. I bring together years of experience, specialist training and a deep appreciation for the ways children communicate, connect and make sense of the world.
27 years of working with children
I have spent the last 27 years working with children in a variety of settings, including nurseries, schools, charities and private homes. For around 10 of those years, I have worked closely with autistic children, including children experiencing autistic burnout, school-related overwhelm and difficulties engaging with conventional education.
This experience has taught me that every child is different. What helps one child may not help another, and genuine progress often begins with understanding the child rather than trying to change them.
I understand the language of play and imagination
Children do not always have the words, confidence or desire to explain what is happening inside them. Play, imagery, movement and creative expression can offer another way to communicate and explore their experiences.
I am not a traditionally trained counsellor. My work draws instead on guided imagery, active imagination, relationship-based play and clay therapy. These approaches allow children to explore their inner world in ways that can feel natural, engaging and less demanding than direct conversation.
I believe that play is not simply something children do for fun. It can be a meaningful way for them to express themselves, discover possibilities and make sense of their experiences.
A broad body-mind approach
As a trained children's yoga teacher, with additional training in yoga for autistic children, I understand the importance of movement, breath, sensory experiences and body awareness in supporting children's wellbeing.
I bring these skills together with guided imagery, creative play and clay work, adapting my approach to each child's needs, interests and preferences. There is no expectation that a child must sit still, talk about their feelings or participate in an activity that does not feel right for them.
Specialist experience in autism and relationship-based play
I have trained in relationship-based play therapy for autistic children with Jack Mason-Goodall, whose work has significantly influenced my understanding of connection, communication and child-led play.
This experience has strengthened my belief that trust comes before demands, and that a child's interests, communication style and individual way of relating to the world should be respected.
Personal understanding of sensory differences
I also have my own experience of sensory sensitivities. This gives me a personal appreciation of how overwhelming certain environments, sensations and expectations can sometimes feel.
I understand that what may seem small or manageable to one person can feel very different to another. I bring this awareness, compassion and respect into my work with children, creating space for them to feel accepted rather than judged.
A relationship built on trust
Above all, I believe children deserve to be met with curiosity, patience and genuine respect.
I do not believe in forcing a child to participate, perform or progress according to someone else's timetable. I believe in building a relationship, following their lead and discovering together what helps them feel safe enough to explore, express themselves and grow.
Your child does not need to fit my approach. My approach is adapted to your child.
